What was, Is still  a meditation on memory held in place.

A weathered tree rises from red earth and stone, its pale trunk catching light against a shifting sky. Beyond it, the land opens toward a distant shed and low hills. Nothing here is hurried. The ground keeps the warmth of what has been; the tree keeps watch over what remains.

The painting is built in layered colour and mark — impressionistic, tactile, and close to the feeling of standing in that landscape rather than copying it. It belongs to my ongoing inquiry into the dialogue between self and nature: art as a language for what sits just beyond the visible.
