Natures Whisper — Concept 1

Study for Nature’s Whisper: a pale path through misted trees.

This small painting was one of three concepts made for the 2026 commission Nature’s Whisper. It was the direction chosen.

The study tests atmosphere as the subject: a path held in mist, a pale trunk, light arriving from further in. Rather than describing every tree, it asks the large work to stay between memory and presence. The finished commission grew from this study onto Belgian linen (80 × 135 cm). The original painting is in a private collection. This concept remains as the first full statement of that feeling.
